  • India’s mobile games market is projected to reach $1.1 billion in revenue by 2020, putting them behind only the U.S., China, Brazil and Russia. The App Annie report attributes this to the low-cost Android handsets that have driven widespread smartphone adoption in the country. Indian game downloads will more than double to 1.6 billion in 2016 and reach 5.3 billion by 2020, with an estimated CAGR of 87%. (PocketGamer.biz)

  • Nintendo is creating real-life “Legend of Zelda” escape rooms across the U.S. It is working with SCRAP, which won USA Today’s “Best Escape Room” in the U.S. for 2016, but claims its experience is more than just an escape room. Guests will interact with classic characters and items will be used to solve puzzles and move forward into other areas, just like in the games. The tour starts in San Francisco, from Jan. 31 – Feb. 5. (VentureBeat)
