Skillz CRO Speaks at Pocket Gamer Connects SF

May has been full of exciting speaking events for Skillz executives, including the LA Games Conference, CFO Leadership Council and The Alumni Society’s Catalyst LA – and the fun continued recently with Pocket Gamer Connects: San Francisco! This local event is one of largest Pocket Gamer Connects conferences that take place worldwide, in locations from London to Bangalore. The event was put on by Pocket Gamer, a leading UK-based media brand that specializes in the mobile gaming industry.

During this year’s global mobile games conference, the industry was represented by over 1,000 delegates from 50+ different countries that were in attendance. The 10 event tracks spanned topics including eSports, cryptocurrency/blockchain basics, future visions, and the developer toolkit with speakers from companies such as Twitch, Jam City, Megacool, Epic Games and High Fidelity.
  Pocket Gamer Connects

The panel our Chief of Revenue, Craig Churchill, spoke on centered around the future of eSports. He spoke alongside executives from ESP Gaming, Super Evil Megacorp, ESL and Steel Media about how mobile is driving the future of competitive gaming because of its accessibility and popularity. During the panel, Craig mentioned that according to Newzoo, in 2017 the global games market value totaled $116 billion with mobile leading the space at $50.4 billion, indicating mobile gaming’s move to the forefront of the entire entertainment industry.
