Skillz Named to TiE50’s Top Startups

We’re excited to share our latest accolade – Skillz has been selected as a winner of the TiE50 Top Startups award! This list of top 50 startups was selected from over 7,400 companies in 28 countries. This win adds to our previous recognition as the #1 fastest-growing private company in America on the Inc. 500, the first eSports company on CNBC’s Disruptor 50 and the only eSports company on the San Francisco Business Times Fast 100.

 

 

TiE is a global, nonprofit network comprised of half a million members around the globe. It was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs and executives. Since its inception, TiE has been committed to fostering entrepreneurship and the creation of wealth by connecting startups with entrepreneurs, influencers and large enterprises.

TiE50 is TiE Silicon Valley’s exclusive annual awards program celebrating top technology startups worldwide. Since the creation of the list in May 2009, the winners have attracted billions in investments. Among the list of top startups TiE50 has awarded in the past are Darktrace Limited, Labcyte Inc. and Ledger. Many companies that made the list have also been acquired, merged or went public. The award winners are will be honored at TiEinflect 2018, one of the world’s largest conference for entrepreneurs.

Companies included in this year’s list are using innovative technology to change the way we think, learn and heal. Among the medical technology companies on the list is Myndlift, a company dedicated to the advancement of neurofeedback given personal connections to ADHD. Both founders were also included in Forbes’ 2016 30 Under 20 list in Israel.

Other companies appearing alongside Skillz on this year’s list include:

  • Udacity, a well-known e-learning platform offering credential programs in artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics.
  • Litesprite, the first video game to win a U.S. Surgeon General Award and the only one being recommended by clinics today.
  • MacStadium, the only provider of enterprise-class hosting solutions for Apple Mac infrastructure, which was previously ranked #44 on the Inc. 5000.
  • ZeroUI, a company known for its handheld robotics kit.
